Audentia of Demon Soul http://audentia.guildomatic.com Wed, 11 Nov 2009 19:50:40 -0000 Wed, 11 Nov 2009 19:50:40 -0000 http://audentia.guildomatic.com en-us 3600 A big and yet not so big change
Posted 09/01/2009 10:08 AM by Erato.

I've decided to step down as GM.

This decision has come over a few months of thinking about it, which turned in to a firm decision when I told the officers about two weeks ago. Since then I've wrestled back and forth with myself as to whether I really wanted to let it go. I love this guild and I have enjoyed being your GM. But I know that I need to do this for me and am doing it before I change my mind.

I'm not leaving the guild.

Stepping down as GM has nothing to do with my satisfaction with the guild, my officers, our progression or anything else. I really don't see the point in playing this game without you guys and I love being a part of this guild. I will still be here, and I will still raid regularly (though I might *gasp* actually take a night off now and then).

My stepping down has nothing to do with the guild or the guild's progression.

Yeah Yogg is a toughie but my reasons are purely personal. I'm a perfectionist and I also stress. Those two characteristics have made me over invest my time and thought in to being GM. I need to step away so that I can put more of that time and energy towards my life outside of WoW.

Geest is your new GM

After discussing it with the officers we have decided to give the position of GM to Geest. Geest has been an outstanding raider and officer ever since the day he joined Audentia. He has always displayed a level head in tough situations, sacrifices his own wants for the sake of others, and says what needs to be said even if it is hard to say. He shares my vision for what the guild should be and I believe he has the skills to get it there. There are few people I would feel so confident about. I feel very good about Geest taking this guild forward and you should too.

Geest's position as GM will be effective immediately. I will step down to the position of officer for one week to help ease the transition. After that I will step down to raid core. I will continue to maintain the website, attend raids, and help with healing assignments whenever needed but that will be the limit of my role. Please understand that I will no longer have any more authority than any other Raid Core member. I do not want to be the former GM who is still trying to throw her weight around.

Remember why we play
I guess I just want to give some parting advice and hope you will all heed it. This is my final act as GM. Please remember that we are a team. We succeed and fail together. Be willing to give up your own good for the good of others. Build each other up and help one another, don't tear people down. So take care what you say to others, and watch yourself for attitudes that are putting yourself or progression before your teammates. People come first, then progression. This guild has always been strong because of the friendships, I don't ever want us to lose that.

Erato Tue, 01 Sep 2009 17:08:43 -0000 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/307942 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/307942 Vezax is Down!
Posted 08/10/2009 10:24 PM by Erato.

<center>Vezax definitely presented more of a challenge than Freya or Mimiron but after some painful misses on interrupts and some near misses (7%?!? UGH!) We finally got Vezax down and now only Yogg stands in our way. Great job Audentians! However, this week Audentia has found it's stride again and taken down a new boss. Thorim was as or more challenging than Hodir but we got him down. Along the way we have found new talent and new friends. Congratulations Audentian's new and old, you deserve to be proud!
<br><img width="700" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2439/3764992698_0088df193b_b.jpg"</br></center>

Erato Tue, 28 Jul 2009 05:58:46 -0000 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/293604 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/293604 Being a Team
Posted 07/22/2009 09:06 AM by Erato.

Audentia has seen it's share of changes over the last two months or so. We've lost some long time members for various reasons, and we've gained some new members. Summer brings it's own set of challenges with vacations and an overall dip in attendance. I think it's fair to say that summer is the most challenging time in the year for a guild to get through. Honestly, last summer was no different. It's just the nature of things. However, I only mean to point this out because of how it affects the dynamics of our raid.

In order for us to be successful and to enjoy our time raiding we have to start thinking of ourselves as a team. This team mentality is something that comes naturally when friendships are strong and there has been time for it to develop. Through the whispers I've gotten and the tone in the raid last night, I know we aren't there yet.

But we have to get there and it needs to be now.

Be a team. Forgive people for making mistakes. Do not break people's trust by performing below your best. Respect others by being on time. Put the success of the team above your own personal wants.

Our new and old people alike have to make this happen. Treat others like they are your friends, they may not be yet but they can, will, and must be in order for Audentia to succeed.

Erato Wed, 22 Jul 2009 16:06:51 -0000 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/291461 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/291461 No Longer Tracking 10 Man Loot and Attendance
Posted 06/01/2009 10:05 PM by Erato.

As of June 2, 2009 Audentia will no longer be tracking 10 man loot and attendance. This is the result of a lot of thoughtful discussion about the flaws in the current loot system. The most glaring problem being that most of Ulduar 10 man loot are minor upgrades while Ulduar 25 man are significant upgrades. It's troubling to feel like you have to pass on loot in 10 because you do not want to risk losing out on 25 man loot.

Second of all the idea was to track 10 man loot and attendance to make the system MORE fair but as some members have pointed out, it tends to tip the scale in favor of certain people. Favoritism was never my goal. I hope you all know that I would never intentionally rig the system to favor certain people.

Lastly. We got Freya down tonight! WOOT!

Erato Tue, 02 Jun 2009 05:05:14 -0000 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/269879 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/269879 Rough Week
Posted 05/29/2009 10:34 AM by Erato.

Alright so we had a rough week in Ulduar. Auriaya is giving us all a headache. I think we are all really discouraged right now. This is one of those breaking points that we either must rise above or admit defeat. I don't know about you but I am NOT ready to admit defeat.

Krok is stepping up to the plate for raid leading while Dareous is going to take a break. What I ask of you guys is to respect and listen to him. This is something you guys do automatically for Dareous because you are use to him but I know Krok can lead just as effectively, we just have to allow him to.

This is also a good time to look at your own personal performance and ask yourself if there is something you can do better. How is your DPS? It is not unreasonable to expect everyone to be within 2.5-3k overall on any given night. I know you all have the gear to support those kind of numbers and, while I understand that certain classes or specs just don't put out high numbers as easily, 2.5-3 is an acceptable range no matter the class or spec. If you are not putting out those numbers then it's time to do some theorycrafting and a little practice on a heroic dummy. I know, we are not a hard core raiding guild. I don't expect hours of your time but 30 mins somewhere in your week to improve your DPS can potentially save us hours of wiping later on.

Lastly I want us to all have fun whether we are wiping or owning bosses. All this wiping has made us start snapping at each other and stop having fun. If you are getting burnt out and frustrated, then go enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend and take a break. When we go in there on Tuesday let's go in there fresh, excited, and ready to kill things.

Erato Fri, 29 May 2009 17:34:20 -0000 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/268292 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/268292 40 war bears, 1 night, sweet sweet victory
Posted 05/25/2009 10:04 AM by Erato.

<center>Led on by a mount obsessed power ranger called Dareous, we fearlessly stormed each Horde city and smashed all in our way. Currently looking at running Tue/Sunday
<br><p>
ALSO, we are running 25 man ulduar this coming week. The goal is to get Flame Leviathon, Razorscale, and XT-002 down. We will be alternating weeks with 10 mans and 25 mans so that we can experience both while only raiding 2-3 nights a week. So next week is 25's, week after is 10's etc. </center>

Erato Sun, 26 Apr 2009 01:29:09 -0000 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/250475 http://audentia.guildomatic.com/news/show/250475
